Let us lend a hand, in this list, in particular, we’re going over the top FPS (First Person Shooter) video games launching in 2018. Here is Top 20 Upcoming FPS Games PC 2018:
1. Far Cry 5
The eleventh installment but the fifth main title within the franchise, Far Cry 5 will be seeing a release in 2018. The video game takes place within the United States of America this time around, though more specifically, in a fictional Hope County, Montana.
Within the narrative, Far Cry 5 pins players against Joseph Seed, a leader of a cult who has forced his way into controlling Hope County. As more innocent civilians become trapped and forced into submission under Joseph Seed’s rule, only a handful of resistance stands between Seed and his reign.
2. Metro Exodus
Based on Dmitry Glukhovsky’s novels, developers 4A Games is bringing out the third installments to the Metro video game series, Metro Exodus. This first-person shooter takes place in the not so distant future, 2036, but in a post-apocalyptic Earth which was devastated by a nuclear war that took place decades earlier.
If you enjoyed the past installments, Metro Exodus will follow the events of Metro: Last Light. More specifically, the video game will follow the Redemption ending with players assuming the role of a young Artyom that flees Metro in Moscow in a journey with Spartan Rangers.
With development of the video game title starting back in 2014, 4A Games does not have a specific release date announced quite yet, but its slated to launch within the 2018 calendar year.
3. System Shock
If you enjoyed System Shock back when it first released in 1994, next year, 2018, players will be given the chance to once again enjoy the System Shock journey through a remake. The video game is being developed by Night Dive Studios which will retell the narrative journey of a nameless hacker who gets swindled into working with the TriOptimum Corporation, a company the hacker previously attempted to hack and steal files from.
As mentioned, System Shock originally released back in 1994 where it was praised by critics and was a commercial success leading to a sequel to release under the development studios Looking Glass Studios and Irrational Games. We’re interested in seeing just how well the remake will do in today’s market.
4. Battalion 1944
Set during World War II is developers Bulkhead Interactive upcoming first-person shooter, Battalion 1944. The video game is said to be bring back the old school vibe of FPS to the latest generation of consoles. With that said, there’s no campaign available to go through alone. Instead, the developers have created Battalion 1944 to be a multiplayer focused close quarters combat frenzy.
While we have the video game listed to release in 2018, the developers are hoping to release an early access version of the video game next year with a full launch happening sometime afterwards.
5. Wolfenstein 2
Yes, we know! Wolfenstein II is already out this year, 2017. The video game follows the events of Wolfenstein: The New Order which alters historical events. With the Nazi Regime ruling the world, a military resistance looks to fight back within America, acting as the nation’s second American Revolution against the Nazi rule.
Again, the video game launching this year, on October 27, 2017, however, Nintendo Switch owners will not receive Wolfenstein 2 until 2018. For that reason, we’ve included the video game title on our upcoming FPS list of 2018.
6. Deep Rock Galactic
Deep Rock Galactic is a 1 to 4 player sci-fi Co-op FPS game that has earned some positive ratings from the early reviewers. The characters are dwarves on an alien planet who are space miners and out to collect precious minerals, gold etc by exploring caves. The dwarves have access to lots of weapons ranging from good old flamwthrower to launchers that can destroy cave walls.
The game is set to release in early 2018 by Coffee Stain Publishing. The game has been dubbed as “something fresh in FPS game” genre by Grabit Magazine.
7. World War Z
As the name suggest, World War Z is a 4 player cooperative survival/shooter game inspired by the movie World War Z. The movie already has a mobile game and they announced a PC/Console based game in 2018.
The game will have several missions and multiple cities scenarios. Players have to survive the endless zombies waves by using weapons, setting up barriers, traps etc. No release date announced so far except a trailer.
8. Agony

9. Warhammer: Vermintide 2
Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is a sequel to award winning and critically acclaimed Vermintide game. The original 5 heroes are back with 15 different career. Each character provides different playstyles, talent tree, abilities, weapons and equipment’s. You will face combined forces of Skaven & destructive Chaos arm with the goal to survive the never-ending onslaught.
The game is developed by the same studio. Since the first part was a major success, Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is expected to offer the same, if not better, game play and experience.
10. Overkill’s The Walking Dead
Who doesn’t love the highly popular Walking Dead series? OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead is a four player co-op action FPS game, developed by the gang behind PayDay and based on the Walking Dead Universe.
Players have to survive in a post-apocalyptic Washington D.C. against the threat of both the dead and the living. Each character has its own set of unique skills, roles, play styles and background story.
11. Escape from Tarkov
Developed by Battlestate Games, Escape from Tarkov is a survival shooter game with some interesting features. Unlike other games, player has to take care of their character as it in real life situation. They have to manage the physical condition with stats like hydration, blood pressure, and exhaustion.
The player can have limited inventory and it will be lost if you die. Challenging enough already? The game is in closed beta stage and beta access is available from its official site only.
12. Betrayer
If you liked Doom, then Betrayer is just the thing you woudl love. Set in the 17th century, It is a first person shooter game that combines the thrill of early 17thc entry weapons with horrors of ghosts and corrupt Conquistadors.
You can explore large open environments to work your way towards unravelling the mystery of doomed colonies. You can chart your own course and on the way solve clues and find treasures.
13. Star Wars Battlefront 2
Compared to the first Battlefront game, Star Wars Battlefront 2 is a huge improvement in almost every way. And before you point out that BF2 is a third-person shooter, you can play the game (both the campaign and multiplayer) entirely in first-person.
Yes that's right, we said campaign - BF2 features a fully-fledged original campaign that stretches across locations from the entire film franchise, and puts you in the shoes of some of its most iconic heroes.
It's a visually stunning game too, from the environments to the facial animations and even the individual markings of the barrel of the gun that you catch glinting in the light as you run to avoid enemy fire. If you're a lover of Star Wars and first-person shooters, Battlefront 2 is the perfect option.
14. Destiny 2
Destiny 2 is that rare sequel that’s an improvement on the original in almost every way. Gear has been improved, levelling refined and finally the story actually makes sense.
Even the core gunplay – almost perfect in the first game – somehow feels even more fluid and satisfying. It’s a disappointment that there are no new enemy races to fight, but the maps are stunning, and packed with content.
Best of all? The expansive end-game respects your time, with gear drops balanced around playing for a few hours a week, leaving plenty of time to clear the rest of your backlog.
15. Call of Duty: WW2
Call of Duty WW2 takes the CoD franchise back to its roots, and offers the best CoD experience of any game in the past few years. During the gritty, intense campaign you’ll storm the beaches of Normandy on D-Day before fighting your way across Europe, experiencing events of the second world war through the eyes of a solider.
It’s a stunning game with detailed environments – even the facial animations are detailed.
The multiplayer boasts 10 diverse maps across Europe, featuring maps with tight corners and enclosed areas perfect for shotguns or submachine guns to open maps ideal for patient snipers. A welcome change is the removal of Classes - they’ve been replaced with Divisions, each with unique unlockable benefits.
16. Battlefield 1
Battlefield 1 is one of our favourite games to be released in 2016, offering a brutal and humbling look at the first world war – a drastic change from the Hollywood-esque Battlefield Hardline the year before, and from its main competitor, the sci-fi themed Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.
The single player campaign is offered in anthology format, allowing gamers to hear the stories of several of the thousands of people that took part in the war worldwide.
The multiplayer is Battlefield at its best with all-out-war conditions, and the destructible environments mean the state of play can change in an instant. Fantastic game throughout, and well worth playing.
17. Half-Life 2
Rise and shine, Mister Freeman, wake up and smell the ashes. It's tough to find a game more spell-binding than Half-Life 2. From the moment you find yourself riding that train into the dystopian future of City 17 to the instance good ol' Barney tosses you your trademark crowbar, gamers everywhere knew that they were in for one hell of a ride.
With unmatched in-game cinematics and a memorable cast of allies and villains, Half-Life 2 was an experience more than it was a game – so much so that all these years later, users are still pining for a third in the series.
18. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered

19. Far Cry 4
Far Cry 4 is hands-down the best in the series and indulges the slightly insane missions that gamers love to experience. Take down a base on elephant back? Check. Hang glide off the side of a mountain to escape pursuing enemies? Check.
The open world is huge and everything you see in-game is accessible, and with a number of missions and activities to do while exploring, you’ll be lost in the Far Cry world for quite some time. The graphics and environment are gorgeous, the game is fun to play and offers something unique when compared to other open world FPS games.
20. DOOM
The 2016 reboot of the classic Doom series takes Doom back to what it was originally – absolutely insane. It starts with a casual skull crush before throwing you into the action at the deep end within minutes of playing, and within an hour of playing you’ll be waging war in Hell.
It goes against typical FPS cover-and-shoot trends, keeping gamers moving constantly to avoid being surrounded by the enemy and eradicated. You’ll find various power-ups throughout the game that’ll give you the edge in battle and make your destruction that little bit gorier
